We are a small community of individuals dedicated to growing the healthiest produce available. We use no till methods thus minimizing our impact on the earth. Our only amendments are composted manure, rock phosphate, and lime. There is no use of chemical fertilizer, or pesticides. We teach others to grow food, and how to incorporate this into a healthy lifestyle. We use mostly open pollinated/heirloom seeds. We have been Certified Naturally Grown since 2009.

We at A Place of the Heart believe that a CSA is a collaboration between the farmer and the consumer; thus, you will be able to select the items that make up your basket. Each week after harvest, we will send you an email with a list of available produce items. When you come to market to pick up your share, just bring us a list of what you wish to have, and we will fill your order. Some items will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, but the seasonally abundant vegetables will be available to everyone. Our customers have been very happy with this system—it makes receiving a CSA share more like grocery shopping, except with all local produce. Please let us know if you have any questions about this CSA innovation. We offer both full and half shares. A full share feeds a family of four, or two vegetarians, and easily fills up a half-bushel basket; a full share contains 10-14 different items. The shares are $700 for the season, if paid in full by the first basket. If paid for monthly, the shares range from $125 to $156 ($31.25 per week), depending on the number of Saturdays in a month. If you choose this option, we request that you pay $250 as the initial payment in May. The initial payment of $250 includes the 1st and last month payments. The total cost for a full share, if paid for monthly, is $750. A half share feeds two people, or one vegetarian. A half share contains 5-7 items, and is $400 for the season, if paid in full by the first basket. If you choose to pay for the half share in monthly installments, the cost ranges from $75 to 93.75 ($18.75 per week), depending on the number of Saturdays in a month. If you choose this option, we request that you pay 150 as the initial payment in May. The initial payment of $150 includes the 1st and last month payments. The total cost of a half-share, if paid for monthly, is $456. Our CSA will provide you with top-notch local produce from spring until autumn. As a courtesy to our repeating customers, we offer shares to them first. However, this year we are planning to increase the total number of CSA baskets, so there will be plenty of room for new customers. The season runs from early May 16th to October 22nd.
