We grow crops on our land using a unique no-till, direct seeded approach that is almost entirely petroleum and irrigation free. All work is done with hand tools and beds are dug using a broadfork and shovel. We use polyculture designs to help with pest control, weed suppression and fertility management. Our approaches adapt based on challenges and will incorporate more conventional organic approaches when necessary, but we try be as sustainable as possible while having the lowest impact on the biodiversity in our area. For the 2019 season we will be attending the Yancey County Farmers Market in Burnsville and Asheville City Market South in Biltmore Park Town Square on Wednesdays from 12-4. We will have a primary focus of growing a wide variety of cut greens mixes all year long, including baby mustard greens, lettuce, orach, spinach, sorrel, chard, kale, etc. along with cherry tomatoes, summer squash, edible and cut flowers, herbs, peppers and eggplant.
