Highgate Farm is a Certified Naturally Grown market garden located in the scenic Walnut Mountains of Madison County NC, just outside of Marshall. Our business model is inspired by the traditional French Market Garden, with great attention to detail, supplying a broad selection of high quality and specialty vegetables, herbs, and fruits to area tailgate markets, and CSA members. We aim to share our products and our great love of food, to inspire the preparation of healthy, delicious meals. As a small scale CNG farm, our practices are regenerative and closely aligned with Organic standards. We employ small tractors, hand tools, drip irrigation, a propagation house where we start almost all our own plants, caterpillar tunnels, spun row covers, organic inputs and integrated pest management (IPM). Our main source of fertilizer and organic matter arrive in the form of goat manure from a local dairy. We employ several local farm workers, and host seasonal farm apprentices, interns, and work-traders. Find our beautiful produce at tailgate markets in the River Arts District of Asheville, West Asheville and Black Mountain, with CSA pick-up at those locations and on the farm in Marshall.
